This two day course provides an understanding of the background of affordable housing and its context within and the wider housing sector and an overview of the key stages, events and issues in developing housing and regeneration schemes from site identification and scheme inception through planning, handover and project completion.

In addition to training the open courses are a great opportunity for delegates to network with others in the sector and benefit from their experiences.
This course is aimed at those with some understanding of the sector and the issues surrounding it.
On completing the course, the learners will have a basic understanding of the process and the key risk areas.
This course is suitable for Development and Regeneration staff who have some general understanding of the housing sector or senior staff and board members who desire a better general understanding of the development process.

Intensive interactive learning with exercises. This course is available in both classroom and virtual format.
A comprehensive handout is provided with this course. While not essential, it is helpful to scan this before the course. Please come armed with a list of questions you have, jargon you have heard and terms used that you don’t understand, so that we can make sure you go away feeling more prepared for your role. There are no stupid questions.

The Understanding the Development Process course is CPD certified. On completion you will be provided with a CPD certificate.
