Contractors and consultants doing work for a client who has purchased the NHF Schedule of Rates (or related products) do not have to purchase their own copies. Once they have signed an "Extension of licence" agreement, or obtained a Contractor sub-licence number by accepting the terms of the Contractor Confidentiality Agreement, the client can give them copies of the product for use exclusively on work they do for that customer.

Standard minute values are known as the labour and materials files, are available at an extra cost.
